To begin the 9th Annual Spring Unveiling Weekend celebration, on Friday May 1, artist Michael Tieman and his family unveiled Michael’s completed bronze sculpture “Courage”.
This was the national unveiling of Tieman’s 36” limited edition bronze sculpture “Courage” and the first time it was seen since he announced the piece and unveiled the clay work in progress at the Stormy Weather Arts Festival in November of last year.

Michael Tieman completed his 36" tall version of "Courage", a tribute to those who have, who are and who will battle Cancer.

The first completed bronze of this magnificent sculpture was purchased by John Drotos, Connie's husband of 25 years, and the sculpture will be donated to the to the Summa Health System's Jean B. and Milton N. Cooper Cancer Center, Akron City Hospital, Akron, Ohio. This is a new facility, the old one was where Connie spent her six years in treatment. Included in the cost of the 36" bronze of "Courage" is a $5000 donation to the Center's Cancer Support Services.

The family will be present at the dedication ceremonies of the "Courage" sculpture planned for July 29, 2009, the first anniversary of Connie's death, at the Cancer Center in Akron, Ohio.
